Q1:

How can I pay for the application fee?

A1:

Group 1 applicants/candidates: those who submit paper applications should pay $1,100 to the IELTS CEPAS Management Unit (account no: 006-391-61216410) at any Citibank counter.

Group 2 applicants/candidates: those who register through online system and print out invoice to pay.  They can pay through PPS phone service, pay at PPS website at www.ppshk.com (merchant code: 9557) or through internet banking. 
 
Group 3 applicants/candidates: those who register online and pay directly through PPS online payment through CEPAS registration system.

 
Q2: What should I do if I do not have a PPS account?

Q3: Who is eligible for taking IELTS through CEPAS?
A3:

Students of any University Grants Committee funded undergraduate degree programmes (full-time or part-time) who expect to graduate in the current academic year are eligible for the scheme.  If you want to check whether the programme you are studying right now is UGC-funded.  You can call the related number at your institution for enquiry:

Will IELTS result be printed on my academic transcript?

A4:

Please note that NO IELTS result will be printed on your transcript.

The following statement will be printed on the transcript ONLY if a candidate applies for reimbursement.

"In possession of the result of IELTS taken on (date) under the University Grants Committee's Common English Proficiency Assessment Scheme."

If a candidate does not apply for reimbursement, his/her academic transcript will not show any information or evidence regarding the IELTS test he/she has taken through CEPAS.

 
Q5: What should I do if I want to change the test date?
A5:

Candidate can apply for Test Day Transfer by login as ‘Already Registered’ on our website.

Each candidate may transfer their test ONCE only.

Application for Test Day Transfer together with administrative fee has to reach the CEPAS unit 14 calendar days before the original test day or the newly selected test day whichever is earlier.

Candidate may apply for waiver of administrative fee for test day transfer with application and necessary document submitted 3 weeks prior to the original test day or the newly selected test day whichever is earlier.  Please note that only cases such as candidate’s IELTS test dates clashed with his/her university class schedule, exam schedule or common Recruitment Exam or the AO/EO exam organized by the Civil Service Bureau will be considered for waiver.

 
Q6: What should I do if I submitted incorrect personal data?
A6:

Please send the updated information together with your application number, name and ID number to our email address online@ugccepa.com and we will update the information for you.

 
Q7:

When can I receive the Admission Ticket?

A7:

The Admission Ticket will be ready one week before the candidate’s selected test day.

A reminder email will be sent out to alert candidates to print out the Admission Tickets from our website when login as “Already Registered”.

 
Q8:

What is the time of the test?  When do I need to report at the test venue?

A8:

Listening, Reading and Writing tests

The Listening, Reading and Writing tests are held from 9:00am to 12:30pm.

Registration starts at 8:00am and closes at 8:50am.  Candidates who fail to register before 8:50am will not be admitted to the Listening, Reading and Writing tests. 

Speaking test

The Speaking test will be held on the same Saturday afternoon between 1:00pm and 7:00pm or on the following Sunday between 9:00am and 7:00pm at the same venue or at a different venue.  A reminder email stating the time range and the venue of speaking test will be sent to candidate 1 week prior to the selected test day. Exact interview time will be printed on the interview slip distributed on the test day.

Candidates should arrive 30 minutes before the time indicated on the Interview Slip for registration. The Interview Slip is issued to each candidate on the test day.

 
Q9:

When can I receive my Test Report Form (TRF)?

A9:

Test Report From is issued to candidates 13 calendar days after the test.  It is the responsibility of the candidate to provide correct address to us.  We will not be responsible for any TRF lost in the mail due to incorrect address provided by candidate.  If candidate still does not receive his/her Test Report Form 3 weeks after the test, candidate should contact our office.

Candidate may login as 'Already Registered' on our website to check the correctness of his/her personal information and mailing address.

 
Q10:

Are there any passing score requirement for reimbursement?

A10:

There is no passing score required for reimbursement.  All you need to do is to agree to have the following statement printed on your transcript and then you will be entitled to full reimbursement.

"In possession of the result of IELTS taken on (date) under the University Grants Committee's Common English Proficiency Assessment Scheme."

How do I apply for reimbursement?

After you receive the Test Report Form, you can apply reimbursement from you institution.  Please contact the academic service department of your own institution for reimbursement deadline and application procedures.  Here are the contact number:

Can I take the test again?

A12:

Eligible students are allowed to take IELTS and be reimbursed once through the IELTS CEPAS Management Unit.  If students would like to take IELTS more than once, they should contact IDP Education Pty Ltd. at 28276362 or British Council at 29135170.
